Susan Atkins aka Sadie Mae Glutz was a convicted murderer and member of the Charles Manson Family. Atkins was convicted of eight murders including that of actress Sharon Tate. Originally sentenced to death, her sentence was commuted in life in prison when the Supreme Court briefly overturned the death penalty. 
Atkins died of brain cancer on September 24, 2009.

One page letter to a long time friend of Susan in which she informs her friend that she was diagnosed with a brain tumor encouraging people to contact her husband on behalf of the parole board and to send him the letters so that he can provide them to the parole board and that they are not lost. The letter was produced by her husband, James Whitehouse, on behalf of Susan who was no longer capable of communicating.
