Max Schreckengost - We just learned that Shorty died of Leukimia last year
at Mule Creek State Prison. Incredible 11 x 14 drawing done entirely with
PRISON ISSUED PENS. Schreckengost has been in prison for almost 40 years.
He is serving life sentences for murder convictions. He created these pieces
while housed in California's Protective Housing Unit. Alot of time is put
into the pieces of artwork which Max creates. On average, a drawing like this
can take 40 to 80 hours to complete. To really appreciate his work, one must
look at his artwork in the sunlight where you can see the shading and various
animals all done with nothing more than a prison issued pen. One can only
imagine what kind of artist Max would have been had he avoided the legal problems
and pursued his creative outlet with his artwork. This detailed piece of artwork
is nothing short of amazing! This item is framed, overall size with frame
